Capello: Stress, Fergie Reason to Retirement
MOSCOW - Retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United's coaching chair, who announced suddenly inviting comments from many sides. Now, it is coming from a former England national team coach Fabio Capello, who admitted to not think, because Fergie had said to her will to survive.
Capello, who is now coach of the Russian national team, saying that Fergie said to him, that the pension decision was taken because of the excessive pressure. So, the coach from the United Kingdom's most successful decided to quit from the hustle-bustle world of football as a coach-and fill the time with family.
"A few months ago, he told me that he was going to survive. News about him retiring really surprised me, "said Capello told Sky TG24, as reported by Goal, Saturday (11/05/2013).
"I contacted him, and he said that he decided (to retire) because of excessive stress. He said that now he's going to picnic, looking for fun, and see the world (outside of football) with his wife, "said the former coach of AC Milan, AS Roma, Juventus and the 66-year-old.
Capello also praised Fergie as coach unparalleled. "He is the greatest coach in history, mainly because of all the difficulties that he is able to overcome early in his career with Manchester (United) and maintain it in a few years on the same bench," said Capello.
"It was really great. Normally, I think, if (in position), after the first four to five years, most coaches would move. So, it could be in the same bench (United) in the first 26 years is remarkable, "added the coach, who also coached Real Madrid.
