London: It's a reaction to the retirement decision of former England captain David Beckham on Thursday (16/5). Beckham retire at the end of this season.
Gary Neville (former England national team, Manchester United)"I think he was finding the right time.'s Big week in terms of retirement. You think, last week with Paul Scholes and Sir Alex Ferguson - a great figure in English football over the past 20 years.""He felt as if it had been done as far as he could, he now wants to go back to the house ... he's now up to the end of the road, he completed the highest achievement at Paris St Germain."It feels like the end of an era, the end of a generation.""David is very different, he is a cross feeder, gave a ball, he's a joy to play with ... He deserves to be the most influential player in the changing of British football. He has a very big impact."
Roy Hodgson (England coach)"She has a career, status as an icon nan shimmering, and I want him to achieve brilliant results in the future. Lot of people are now going to offer him a job that could take him away from football, but I hope we can keep him. Already a weird week for me see Rio Ferdinand retired, and not so long ago John Terry, David Beckham and now, it does not seem like the end of an era. "
British Prime Minister David Cameron (through a spokesman)"David Beckham has become a football player outstanding in his entire career. Not only that he has been a brilliant ambassador for this country, at least not if we remember all the work she does in helping us win as the host of the 2012 London Olympics."The message the Prime Minister would only say, congratulations on a fantastic career."
Terry Butcher (former England captain)"He is a fantastic ambassador for football not only in the UK but around the world. Wherever she went, she caught the attention of media and fans' attention as well ... legs are getting tired, but he produced some fantastic memories for England."

Steve McClaren (former England coach)"He was a great player. He made the most of his talent through hard work and professionalism and always go the extra mile in training. He inspired his teammates in every appearance. He is a winner, he won a lot of things in his career, and it was contagious on his team-mates ."My memory of the immortal David Beckham is that he continues to be the last of the field and practice skills in a free kick that won the Manchester United, England, and Real Madrid in a lot of games."
