Sir Alex Ferguson: Wayne Rooney Want To Leave Manchester United

Ferguson does not want Manchester United's Rooney off.

Sir Alex Ferguson says striker Wayne Rooney recently requested approval to leave Manchester United.

Sir Alex had announced his retirement on Wednesday (8/5) and then, and after the departure of Rooney rumors going back sticking. Apparently the England striker had been removed at the request two weeks ago.

Rooney did not get into the squad when the Red Devils a 2-1 win over Swansea City at Old Trafford on Sunday (12/5) night. Conditions that further increase the suspicion that the striker had been ready to leave the club.

After delivering a farewell speech, Sir Alex later did an interview with Sky Sports. The Scot who will retire at the end of the season stating, Rooney wanted to leave United this summer.

"I do not think Rooney wants to play because he asked to be released again," said Sir Alex.

"I think he wanted to think things over in her mind. I think it's a good idea."

"We actually do not want it to go. I think he might be a little frustrated by what had happened one or two times in recent weeks."

In an interview with BBC Sports, Sir Alex added: "We reject [the transfer requests]. He needs to think again."
